Company Description :
Since the 1970s, COEDO's parent organization, Kyodo Shoji, has been committed to organic farming in Kawagoe, advocating the concept of "safe, secure and delicious food". Through close collaboration with this agricultural region, Kyodo Shoji has explored sustainable methods, inherited since ancient times, such as the use of wheat as "green manure" to maintain soil fertility.
In 1996, faced with the absence of an independent malt manufacturing company in Japan, Kyodo Shoji decided to innovate by brewing beer from sweet potatoes grown on Kawagoe land. Thus was born Beniaka, the first beer developed by Brasserie Coedo, symbolizing the culmination of the effort aimed at promoting agricultural products often neglected due to their appearance or their perceived quality.
Today, with its deep agricultural experience and close ties to Kawagoe, COEDO positions itself as one of the leading ambassadors of Japanese craft beer. They continue to share their passion for quality and authenticity, offering the world a unique experience, rooted in Japan's cultural and agricultural roots.
